For most photographers, Mono Lake is mainly about the tufa towers. And it is for me also.
But being just east of the mighty Sierra Nevada Mountain Range, and with the winds prevailing from the west, the clouds sometimes do excellent things- from white and puffy things of beauty to small storm clouds blowing across the mountains on their way to Utah.
I've never found a bad time to be at Mono Lake.
