p.1 #1 · Slowcati Evo [Motorcycle Portraits]

I recently photographed my friend Garrett (and his 848 Evo,) who is known on the Ducati forums as Slowcati Evo.

The best part about living in a DTLA industrial loft are the working freight elevators! We brought the bike up to my place to shoot.

Howdy,

I see your photo post has had many views and no comments from viewers.

I know that can be disappointing and often discourages people from posting/participating in a forum like this.

So, I will post a comment or two and maybe that will get others to contribute their views too.

As with anything where a subjective view (opinion) is shared, there can be many views of the same issue or subject.
____________

I am posting a comment in your post because NO ONE else took the time to thank you for adding photos for us to view. I believe in "The Golden Rule" (treat others as you would like to be treated). It is "good karma" too.
___________

Good job on the photos.

The "helmet visor up" photo reminds me of one I posted about 18 months ago of a young boy who is a race car driver.
______________

What do I think would improve these shots?

I think more lights to define the forms would be nicer, especially on the bike and some top light on the Helmet Visor Up shot.

I think all are perfectly fine, love the duc, and its a flat black bike ^, so controlling light is a little tougher, i understand also great job cloning out the bell logo in 1, needed it. Have room to do any wider shots?
I do wish you got a shot of him on it visor down in a full tuck looking ahead setup like shot 3.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Steady! I only have three lights and that matte black bike soaked all of them up!

David1234, nice to see a fellow rider! That Bell logo was a pain in the ass. And it's huge! Great helmet, but they ruin it with their giant logo haha.

I actually do have a full tuck shot sitting in photo-purgatory. Just need to find some time to edit it :-)

These are very nice. I like the light setup you chose.

#2 with a ring light would have been cool as well.
