the architecture has a 'Chinese' style architecture, perhaps due to the religion influence. Looks like time stopped for a while there Charlie, glad you made it back.

Yes, it's probably a lot more crowded these days.
When I was there a few shopping streets were jammed, but not so elsewhere.
Also, there were few motorized vehicles in the old part of town back then- but a lot of people carrying heavy loads on their backs.
People as beasts of burden- probably the saddest of the sights I've seen in all my travels- other than obvious starvation.
