p.1 #1 · Sugarloaf

I spent the weekend near the coast and took a chance at a location that on the past two visits has proved unfruitful.

Shot with the 5D MkIII, 24-105mm f/16, 98s and Big Stopper.

This might be the one I get a large print of.

Comments and opinions appreciated.

Lovely shot. The light on the rocks coupled with the long exposure resulted in a wonderul capture. Go for it on the print. It deserves it.

Cheers,
Ed

Did you use CPL to remove reflections? I have B+W 110, thinking whether I need CPL to stack on it. Appreciate your comments.

I'd say you would be right to print this big. Love the contrast of the well light rocks and the dark background.

Nice side light and the color really pops! I'd say go with ink in a big way...

Nice place, nice shot.
May I ask where this is? Is this in Australia? The rocks look like granite or gneiss maybe.
With these rocks there might be a nice sandy beach nearby and clear waters.
Thanks

Hugues

Those rocks really stand out against an angry background sky.

Hi Chakoo,

No CPL used in the making of the image. Though I do have a Hoya CPL they are just too difficult to get on or off the LEE adaptor - once on you may never get it off with the that rotating CPL ring.

Just a heavy tripod and the Big Stopper (ND 0.9). I have recently ordered a LEE .6 too and am considering a LEE Polariser as well.

Hi Huhues and thanks for your post.

Yes, this is in the South West corner of Western Australia and there are some white sandy beaches about. Not sure what rock type it is, most here just call it granite as there is a lot of it about.
