I'm shooting a wedding in Maui soon and we have a few extra days to play with. Does anyone know some good locations to look into (for portrait spots, not simply landscapes)? I don't have anything specific in mind, so any advice would be great.
Thanks

It's an amazing place. Just take some time to explore. A few mins drive anywhere on the coast and you'll find amazing spots everywhere.

Thanks Tony, that's what I figured.
Brett, I heard the road to Hana took a long time... have you done it?

It's Maui. Everything is a location.

Yep, you can get from Kahului to Hana in a little over 2 hours if you're not stopping and traffic is decent. Of course you could stop a dozen times and happily make an 8 hour trip out of it.

By the way, don't actually go *to* Hana - the point is the trip not the destination.

Apart from killer sunsets at Kaanapali, beaches at Waliea was windy, sand blew everywhere even into my eyes.

On the sides of the highway, I find the mosquitos / bugs annoying, lighting by the waterfalls terrible. Place is always wet with mist and muddy.
I suggest to hire a heli and pop in a fisheye.

It's going to be highly dependent on what location the wedding & reception are at. The Road to Hana does you nothing if you're shooting the ceremony at Kapalua or Lahaina.
