Jag looks great to me. Very minimal HDR look, which is always a good thing. I personally don't like the background - its too sharp. It would have been much better to move the Jag further away and then you could shot the car and let the background drop out of focus. Its too distracting at the moment
The Jag had to be on the grass and as you can see, it only had 12" left to go!! However, I was happy to keep the barn in focus as I thought it looked good that way. The background is quite minimal and does not overpower the shot. I also wanted to show the rusty old barn as a comparision to the nice clean body work of the jag. Thanks for your feedback anyway
I kind of agree that the background is a bit overwhelming. But the car itself is presented spectacularly - just gorgeous. (You might consider cropping on the right so only the structure is showing; that might be a benefit.)
Ye but I wanted the car of centre so that it did not dominate the screen. I also wanted to show that the garage who build these are based in the country
Wow, great car and well shot! I agree with the comments about the crop on the right and to a lesser degree, the background sharpness. I also wonder if there isn't a slight tilt to the right, as seen in the vertical pipe behind the car?
once read an article in Popular Hot Rodding about a car photography contest they were having and one of the comments was about photos of cars on grass......their perspective is that cars dont really drive on grass, so dont take a photo of them on grass......
car would look 10X better if you got more of the side of it and then used shallow DOF to blur the background somewhat......
I think it's hard to comment on this without knowing why the image was shot. The BG could be perfect for a website/magazine where text will overlay it, but prove visually inadequate for sole web viewing.
How about this for a crop where the BG is less of the overall image. Some darkening, blur or whatever would improve the BG.

Great shot of one of the best looking cars ever made. I just purchased a 2007 S-type but after I win the lottery, I'll be calling you to get an E-type
BTW, I love the composition. The car really creates a weight at the bottom of the frame. Very appealing to my eye. I also like the angular geometry of the composition. Not just the position of the car, but the angles that the wall and the street/lawn create in the image.
