I figure the best time for sunrise here is when the sun is further north, around May/June, right after the rains clear out..This was taken a few weeks ago.
I like what's happening here with the side light...

Love it!! Having been there myself back in September, it is something to behold. It's a shame that someone felt compelled to walk across that dune!

Painted Hills FTW... Every time I see pictures of this place I kick myself for not going when I had the chance last summer. Thanks for sharing

A fine rendition of one of our favorite Oregon places. That side lighting makes the shot.

As for the footprints, blame deer for those...I've seen them crossing the Hills several times.

Hey Zeph,

What a super shot! This is really sweet, and for sure I need to get up there and shoot that area sometime.

I love th soft, flowing contours and colored lines with this side lighting.
I would have cropped off most of the flat portion at the bottom of the image to keep the viewers interest in the flowing lines and colors above.

VERY nice! Love the subdued light and color, and the textures and patterns are very sweet indeed. Love the critter tracks crossing the hill, too.

Two beauties, Zeph. Agree with Barry. The light, and color is simply amazing.

Cheers,
Ed

Yes Bill, those deer and antelope have as much an impact as the occasional human, though I think human footfalls take longer to erode. I dug through the FM archives to fetch Andrew's Award winning shot that substantiates your comment.... Andrew's Shot
