Just got back from a cycling trip through Puglia including a few days in Rome. It was my first D800 experience --- just threw it into a pannier along with a 28-300 and a 50. Worked great.

thanks for sharing. just got back from italy last week (didn't get to go to rome so it was nice to see the city posted here) good cityscapes of rome aren't common. did you shoot any of the public fountains? the second one looks like maybe closer to the ocean than rome??
how do you like the 28-300? considering it if i move up to FX.
Yes - that middle shot was from a small town on the coast of Puglia. I shot TONS of both cityscapes and fountains. Some good, most less so. They're on www.flyingpointroad.com
And I've got to admit -- I've used the 28-300 far more than I ever would have anticipated. It's mighty convenient and looks good with a smidge of LR lens correction
