I have no direct experience with L plates from Sunway, but with it only a 25% savings over a Really Right Stuff L plate for the 5D3, that is not enough to tempt me. If it was 50% less I might have more interest.

I started to post the same thing, but I let it go.

I believe in rewarding good quality products and good customer service when I can.

I have been very, very happy with RRS for 10 years now. Although I would be tempted to save a bit, in this case it wouldn't be worth the risk.

Cheers!
Michael

I take it that you were not one of those who got a early RRS plate for their 5D3! Junk!!

Really Right Stuff did have some initial issues with their L bracket for the 5D3, but they made things right for their customers. It is not easy to design a L bracket without a camera in hand, and it is not always easy to manufacture a product perfectly right out of the gate. I happen to have not purchased a 5D3, but rather went for a 1DX instead. The L bracket for the 1DX had some complex issues to solve, and they executed that product very quickly and with a great design. I am happy with it, and in the past I have purchased 8 other Really Right Stuff L brackets for various Canon cameras that have all been well done.

+1, Only I have switched to Markins instead of Kirk. RRS has great products, but I do not share the same political views as them. And before anyone freaks out, yes of course they are free to believe whatever they want, just as I am free to disagree and buy from someone else.

Any references? I'm curious to read more about this...

Thanks Jerry, not sure how I ever missed that. Doubt I will buy from them again.
