I did this for my X-Pro 1, but I'm sure this can apply to just about any camera. I noticed that my X-Pro 1 had a slight scratch in the lower left-hand corner. Something rubbed up against the body and you can faintly see the scratch on the metal framing around the screen...faintly. I don't mind a worn patina on my gear but I don't want a screen filled with scratches.
I've always been a fan of the SGP Ultra Crystal screen protectors for my smartphones. I had one left over that I was able to trim for the X-Pro 1 and I think it turned out ok. This is a static cling scene protector but I've had one on my phone for over a year without issue.
I think it turned out ok, let me know what you think.
