Great shot too bad so many of these great old edifices are left to decay and the graffitti artists.

I agree with Douglas. As much as these decaying relics make compelling subjects, it sucks that we don't do more to keep them intact and useful. Such a waste.

thanks, Lazlo. the meet up group makes arrangements so we can get in 4-5 times a year. we can only stay hours but that is good.

there is some graffiti but since it is locked up, there is very little. we only hope it stays that way.

many thanks John. this place was damaged a good deal in the 1989 quake and may not be used ever again. but they hope to restore much of it. we'll see . . . . .

yes, it is indeed, NICE. there are photo Meet Up groups in all parts of the country; you might search the Web for ones near you.

I agree it's a shame that so many beautiful things from the past are left to fall apart.
The problem- of course- is that restoring them is always horribly expensive. And where does the money come from?
No easy answers, I'm afraid.

Charlie - all so true. but I'm not sure that 'restored' sites are so beautiful to shoot. the age has it's benefits, for photographers.

Or you could take overlapping shots and stitch them together.
