That's the 2nd FD TS 35/2.8 I've seen paired with a Sony Nex in this thread. When I tried that combo I found it pretty unwieldy although it points to needing to use a tripod 95% of the time.

This is my "light" kit so I only carry it with a very dinky tripod that's probably not worth the $35 I paid for it. Suffice to say it doesn't work very well with the 35mm FD TS being front heavy on the 5N.... Have you tried supporting the body+lens entirely by your left hand under the lens and using your right hand to make adjustments? I found that helps quite a bit when hand-holding.

Actually, my strategy in that regard is incidental - typical me.

I just wanted to try everything and see what the differences were in general and in specific.

How are you dealing with the humid months in Japan? I eventually broke down and got a lens cabinet with dehumidifier.

A user here I believe it was Edward, taught me how professional cabinets actually worked (which is SUPER simplistic and NOT worthy of spending much money on) so I just made that glass case you see above into one. I think it was $35 for the used case, $12ea for the three ultra-thin under-shelf lights, $8ea to $10 for each of the four hygrometers, and $5 for a roll of the dust-proof adhesive stripping. So for about $100 and an hour's worth of fiddling about I got a nice 300 lens display case with humidity control.
