You may not like Kay's style, but I think he makes a lot of valid points and I do agree with his main conclusions. Canon is late to the party, the price is steep,.....
I recommend every interested enthusiast photographer to also have a look at Sony NEX and Olympus OM-D
I like DR. Much more entertaining than most and as he said 20x, Canon would only give him an hour.
Same old, same old from Canon... Under whelming and over priced. Business as usual. Sigh....
Watched the second one - Even the more in depth review ("produces adequately sharp images", "serious camera for recording video") indicates it's not really a photographers camera, but a good video camera.
I liked the new review. The conclusions seem to show that Canon's focus was on video vs. still photography. Since I do mostly still I will not be replacing my OM-D or GX-1 with a EOS M anytime soon.

Well, with their current loss of market shares to Nikon, I seriously hope Canon bosses are awake to see the ugly truth in front of them. If they think they can still get away with underwhelming products sold at sky high prices, they'll be in for a bit of shock lately. The market has spoken, now let's see if the Canon execs listen.
AF absolutely kills it for anything except static scenes. you couldn't even use this to take candids of your kids without missing tons of shots. weird.
