nice, really like the third one
something seems a little odd with white point placement though in post processing, like all the tones are far away from max or something
Nice Shots Jet915! You remember Josh "the1wags" from your time in Omaha. He and I were at these falls when we were three a couple weeks ago. When did you make it down there?
Thanks for the comments everyone. As for the technical aspects of shots, in order to get the swirls, I had to open the shutter for 20-30 seconds and this was with a neutral density filter. It was early morning and the waterfall also gave me a blue tone so I had to correct for that as well. Lastly, with the long exposure, the waterfalls became over exposed so I had to tone down on the highlights a good amount.
Brad, I do remember the wags, I still go to eomaha forums once in awhile to check out what is going on in Omaha. I went down to Blackwater about 2 weeks ago and I'm sure there is a ton of snow down there now.
Nice shots, but you've got to change your watermark. The white box is reallllllllllllly distracting. Get rid of the white background and just use text in a lighter color that will show up against the image behind it.
Pretty cool. #1 is my favorite view of these 3. All of them are interesting.
Next time try an ND grad to help balance the light for you as an option. Or if you are shooting with a Nikon, set it for Multiple Exposure mode. You can go with a shorter shutterspeed and the ME mode will make the swirls look like one continuous swirl without the waterfalls getting too hot on you.
