Must have been real exciting to see those birds. Nice shot despite you lack of pull.

Great pic Kirk and a lovely story to go with it.
Must have been a huge thrill to be up there and get this one, no matter what lens you were using.

Easy mistake Ed... I didn't know for sure until I checked the registry where there is no longer an active #08.
Thanks for looking.

Thanks Gary. This was such a great opportunity, they were sitting for awhile on some ledges below the rim, then they would takeoff and ride the thermals up to and then above the rim. I took about 40 shots and liked this image the best for the pose and perspective.

I think the perspective that focal length gave is just super for this shot Kirk! Transponder and all it one cool shot and a bit dizzying too
Incredible shot, great Birdscape image my friend!

Karl

Thanks Karl, always appreciate your thoughtful perspective. Next time I'll have the 300 ready when needed but I do agree about the 70mm providing a nice view of the canyon wall as the backdrop.

That is as tagged bird. Being that condors are an endangered specie I suspect that most of them (and there are not too many) are tagged

Quite right, and I've added some info to the introduction to help explain the current status of these rare birds and the re-population efforts. Thanks or looking in and adding your comment.

Many thanks Eric, I feel so privileged to have had this opportunity. Makes me think I got a small taste of what you experience so often in Africa.

It was a tremendous thrill Martin, he actually came much closer to me but I still prefer this image for the BG and wing pose.
Thanks so much for the kind words Martin, I'm so happy to share their story.
