Ryan, it does also depend on size of image, figure a full page image will be "licensed" (see below) for more money. Caleb's example is for 1/8th page.
While that may or may not be the going rate is up to the company. They maybe trying to go as cheap as possible as I have seen that many times.
Also you don't sell the image, it is licensed, which can also create cost differences, ie length of use, 1 year, 2 years, perpetual, etc. Also exclusive, non-exclusive, etc. Figure if its a perpetual, exclusive use, then you should get top dollar for it. As you would not be able to license it anywhere else and they can use it whenever they want.
If it is a 1 year, non-exclusive, then the cost would probably be around where Caleb is pointing.
Do negotiate, and let them know this is the price you would like but am open to negotiation. Let them counter and go from there if they don't accept the rate you've given them.
