Douglas
Thanks for looking in Douglas. I'm afraid I don't have any shots from the other end, it was late in the day and they were just finishing up, I had spent most of the day on a stand which was demonstrating letterpress printing. Having fed the sheaves of wheat in at the top, the grain is threshed out and the straw just drops out the back. Unlike modern harvesters, it doesn't get mangled up so remains straight enough to be use for thatching. We have farms in Essex which grows wheat for this purpose and still use the old binders to cut the crop and bundle it into sheaves.
Regards,
Ron
