p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Really good Monopod with a stand?

Will be shooting a lot interiors in Eastern Europe soon. There will also be some city architecture shots.

I already have a TrekPod II and the cheaper Manfrotto monopod which turns into a pseudo tripod when you unscrew the base.

Is there a better more stable solution?

I need a monopod because many of those landmarks won't allow you to bring or setup a tripod indoors. I plan to bring a small tabletop tripod as well.

I've been looking at something like this but it might deploy too wide?

Check this out. Another member recommended it to me. I ended not purchasing this because it did not fit my needs but it sounds like what you are looking for as it is a tripod with a built in monopod.

It's my understanding that when the little support legs are extended the amount of weight it's rated to hold comes way down -- what that means to me is if I have a camera and lens the monopod will easily support it probably won't if you extend the little legs.

Look at pic 6/17 - what are those threads made from? Not plastic, I hope.
