p.1 #1 · Does this image have a 3D feel to it??

I have taken many Bird in flight images but this one does have a 3D feel to it.
Please contribute yours.

5D3 at 700mm, 1250 ISO, F/5.6, 1/1600sec, handheld. I wish the entire wings were captured.

It's a really beautiful shot, but I never ascribe 3D to a 2D (non-stereo, or non-moving) image.

It definitely does Ruhikant. But i don't have anything to show in 2D let alone 3D

I tried to feel it, and it feels like a cold computer screen....Then I had to dodge the darned bird when he came out of the screen!!! Great shot!!! Tough to work with the narrow FOV once they got too close!...

If the background wasn't so white, maybe.

No, but I can't decide whether it is more 2-D or 4D... though I'm positive that it isn't 1-D.

Posted this in nature and wildlife and someone there said it almost looked 3D on their monitor.

Not even close to "3D feel". The perspective is squashed flat by the extremely long focal length. Also, the depth of field is very thin (it's only f/5.6) and seems to concentrated in a plane containing the neck and the talons (looking up at the bird), though, as always, it is hard to tell after web sizing and mangling..

Even so, it's a good photograph.

I can definitely see it and also the coyote. Nice job on both of them. This is as close as I have.

I understand what you are saying but 3D feel is quite different than more DOF.
This following image does not have the same feel as above even though most of the bird is in focus.

It does have a 3D feel. It would be much more pronounced if there was a background blurred behind it, clouds, a tree, mountain range.

Neither image has "3D feel". Both are flattened as if by a steam-roller by the extremely long focal length. Depth of field is secondary.

The sharpness and the detail just aren't there in either picture. Part of that is web processing and mangling, but even so, if the detail is there in the original photo, then good post-processing can bring it out, even at web size.

Amazing 3D effect. What did you do in post processing, it has a semi painted look to it.
