p.1 #1 · Anyone photographed inside airport before??

So as I'm booking a wedding for next year, my clients decided to fly me out to Indianapolis for their engagement session so they wanted pictures inside the airports, in DC and in Indiana. I am not sure how to tackle this so wondering if anyone's done this before?

Not just in those particular airports but in any airports inside the US.

Photos of them in the airports, or like artsy photos of cool airports?...

Instead of calling DC or Indiana airports to see what their rules are regulations are, what Momo is saying is that clients are willing to fly him out to wherever they are.

This is not mine but I know the shooter Danny.
He did a cool shoot in SFO.

I would be cautious about shooting in such places though just in case you get into trouble for shooting in security sensitive areas.

you can take as many pictures as you like, no problem doing so, and if you talk to the crew, they will let you take pictures even in the cockpit if they have the time between turn. commercial aircraft are not like military aircraft, you're free to take pictures.

If its a public airport, just talk to the Airport Transit Authority, they can help. I was lucky enough to catch the attention of Southwest agents during a live proposal and they escorted us around the airport.

What my clients are looking for is a story telling on how they met. They met at the airport and his luggage was missing and she gave him a ride and they got to talking and bla bla bla.

So I'd be shooting of him by the luggage belt waiting for his luggage.
Then her talking to him and offering him a ride.
Then them in the car.
Etc. Nothing crazy like Spencer's. Although that's a cool shot!

Basically I was trying to find out what you guys thought.

1. Those that shot there, did you need permission? Or just go for it and hope for the best?

2. Do I even bother talking it out with the airport? Or again, just go there and hope for the best?

Dude, your greeness is showing. Just call them up and find out for sure. In fact, not even sure why you posted this here. The first thing I would have done is call the airport.

Don't rely on a bunch of people on a forum for this. They're you're clients. Do what you need to do to make it happen.

Or, you can just go the amateur route - just go there and hope for the best.

If you aren't using lights you should be fine to do what you mentioned.

So glad I'm not the only anally-retentive person whose first thought was "that's an F-16"

Yea... just go and shoot and hope for the best, because airport security guards aren't notorious for racial profiling. You should have no problem just wandering around an airport with a camera....

definitely call them dude, otherwise... if something does happen at best you're likely to look like a chump, at worst you could end up being patted down and questioned.

Another reason to like Southwest. If it was delta somehow they would have lost the bride...

You dont need to call amybody, you dont have to do anything, you will be at the Non Sida area of the airport, it is ok to shoot there. I work there, I know the rules.

While this is true for any public property, it's never a bad idea to just give a heads up, or be friendly and try and reach out to them beforehand, especially considering the high security nature of airports. Wouldn't hurt to have the Airport Authority message any security detail that you'll be there and you're NOT a crazy.

I'll bet that wouldn't happen at an airport like LAX...you'd soon be surrounded by an alphabet soup of security people all trying to figure out how much you hate our freedom....
