p.1 #1 · Are you dissappointed with your new camera?
I have had all of the above.
1. D3 and D4 were perfect from first shot
2. D7000, D800, and D600 all had to be dialed in and required improved shooting skills.
3. D300 problems from day one, Turned out to be a lemon
4. D4 was too expensive for my use.
5. Kodak DC760 and Canon 5D2 were both over hyped
p.1 #6 · Are you dissappointed with your new camera?
I swapped from Canon to Nikon in 2008
I used the D3(s), D700, D300(s) and D800E
I've never been happy with the IQ of the D300(s), but that's probably personal preference.
With the D800E I had oil on the sensor and it takes time to get used to as it's not as forgiven as the D3(s) and D700.
Now I'm waiting for the D400.
p.1 #7 · Are you dissappointed with your new camera?
The only camera I had a learning curve with was the Hassleblad for some reason, and that was with years of using manual cameras (Rolleiflex and Leica). Took me at least 2 months before I started to get results I liked from that camera.

FE, F3HP, N90, D200, D300, D700: all have functioned with exceptional predictability. My only disappointment was the N50, which was a bit of a toy with an awkward user interface whose AF went kaput after (ab)using it in a snowstorm.

p.1 #12 · Are you dissappointed with your new camera?
1Ds*- originally arrived DOA. after replacement had to work in post to dial the image in more then i thought it would
1Ds2*- lasted 1.5 months and imager failed 1 week before going to NZ/AU. this has some backstory that really started my questioning Canon quality and reliability. Canon replaced
1D2*- never impressed me overall.
XTi*- a good subframe almost P/S product
40D*- a good subframe product
1D3*- the straw that broke the camels back. eventually canon replaced. rethought Canon and disposed of the product i had.
D3*- outstanding camera with great reliability. the only trip back to nikon was for the buffer upgrade
D700*- great product. grip actually made a difference in usability.
D7000- my first subframe from nikon. outstanding image machine. use it often.
D4- my favorite under trying conditions. does all that i need. concerned about XQD future support but i'll live through the turmoil though.
