p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Rosco gels to balance greenish Z96 LED light?

Hi,

I'm using the F&V Z96 LED lights and want to know any tips on balancing the light. I think it has a greenish spike and also a little cold making subjects look kinda sick. I read somewhere that you can color correct LED with +1/8-1/4 CTO plus a minus green gel.

I also heard LED are bad for skintones because they don't have the full spectrum of light.

Anyone use LEDs and solved this problem? I want to use the LED light for video as well as stills(for a little fill).

Did yours not come with the warming filter?

Yeah it came with that but the color balance using the supplied gel is even worse.

I have a Flashpoint LED light with a green color balance and I use a 0.2 Magenta filter to correct it and get very accceptable results. I have another LED light that is much better balanced for daylight without any filter, so there seems to be a lot of variation between the output spectra of LEDs.

How are you setting white balance?
