Joshua, Absolutely breathtakingly beautiful images. Your talent always amazes me. I did have to smile at the train picture on page 1 with all the cameras hanging out the side in front of you, but I think I liked the humor aspect added to the image as well. .
It has been about 6 years since we traveled in that area, and even longer since visiting Europe. With my interest now in photography, I am really ready to travel again and wishing family issues weren't preventing it. In the mean time I really enjoyed yours.

A quick handheld snap of the bridge while on the way back from shooting at Skywalker. The more I use this, the more I like it. And one from a bit further south on the way back.

Just another 100% image sample for a look at corner to corner sharpity goodness 24mm f/8 on a 22MP FF performance in a scene with no super close foreground (which would stress lower corners more): 24mm f/8

Thank you, Jim. If you feel like it, you can visit my gallery here :http://www.pbase.com/ageojo/venice_2013. Of course, not all images in that gallery were taken with the 24-70 Mark II. I am attaching two more images taken with that lens from a different location, Cinque Terre and Firenze taken after Venice.

Fred, those are awesome images . It doesn't look like your photography is hampered by the limited DR, does it ?
Like you, I also felt that the 24-70mm Mark II lens is a superb landscape lens. While the 24-105mm lens has more reach and the IS works like a charm, still I felt that it is a tad short for critical landscape shots.

Joshua, Fred and the rest of you: fantastic images that make you forget all about pesky DR topics! Just awesome sauce!
Thus I'm kinda embarrassed to post these ordinarily snapshots, but what the hell: I was particularly impressed with the great resolution of tree branches in the first shot. The second has a nice crisp look to it that I could never obtain with my old 24-105 f/4L.

King Penguins Along a Stream on St. Andrew's Bay, South Georgia. Just made a 16x20 of this image and the detail is just superb. I have a suspicion I'll be quite happy with it for landscape work, especially with the flexibility of a zoom.
