In the original scene there was a big gap in the benches just to the left of the people. I worked my ass off fixing it in CS6, but it still looks a bit like a hackjob

I would expect that to have been easy using content aware fill. Sometimes itís easier to capture what you want. Did you consider asking the couple to move over to the right?

I think your bench repair looks fantastic! I do detect cloning in the bench shadow, though. There is a dark area along the bottom edge of the shadow that is repeated four times. The original appears to be at far left.

I'm not sure if the time it took was worth the improvement. I like them both and the gap didn't bother me that much. Since on the subject of cloning though... you have one more dust nugget on the far left that needs to be zapped.
