p.1 #1 · Photographing Jewelry

Hi All,

I am going to photogrph some jewelry for the first time soon. I have done lots of product photography for things like phones, cameras, lenses etc so I have a good idea of what I am getting into. I will be using continuos lights such as HMI 1200 and 575 and kinoflo with large diffused sources such as 4x4, 4x2 etc.I may shoot on a white paper sweep or possibly on white or black plex (seems like more trouble than needed to get the relections). I was going to shoot this with my 5D II and 100 Makro Planar and/or renting a 180L Macro (advice here is appreciated). I plan to shoot tethered to LR4 and my 17" macbook pro for critical viewing. Any advice/samples would be super helpful.

You may need a polarizing filter.
