Plant erosion along the edge of a California beach.
Some fiddling may have occurred during processing- I don't remember.

It took me a while to see something happy in it.
Then I found it: There is a funny frog on top of it.

South of Monterey and Carmel is Point Lobos State Park- where this was taken. Ansel Adams said about Pt Lobos that- along with Death Valley- it was one of two places where he'd never run out of things to photograph.
This is the bottom of a fallen tree trunk that had probably been out to sea and washed ashore long ago. When I saw it, the trunk was just above the high tide line, so a storm possibly washed it the last few yards. Anyhow- that's my theory
