Its a great way to get into photography. You'll enjoy photography and progress and probably never out grown the D600. The possibility of learning that photography is not something you desire. But If you jump on the kit lens deal real quick while the whole kit is $1999 then youll have decent resale value if you decide its not for you.

This was just a fun picture of my step daughter. We were doing a gag gift for someone. Her caption was "You enjoy this"..

Threw a sb910 on a hano small 8" soft box camera right just above head height. Basic quick and it was fun. But I was happy with the D600/85mm 1.8g combo output.

I managed to motivate myself to get out in the cold and spend some time with my new D600. For this shot I was lying on the ice on a frozen creek after sunset with my 16-35 f4 VR trying to get some interesting shots of these ice crystals. By this late in the day the light was pretty flat, so I punched up the contrast and clarity in LightRoom to try to bring out a little more definition in the crystals; next time I will remember to bring a small reflector for subjects like this.

I'm already play'n like a kid in a candy store. Lol!!!

Already sold the kit lens to Midwest Photo too (they're local to me.) They gave me $365, fair for both parties. I've already got the 24-85G VRII, so this really helped.

Nice image, now try it at about a minute exposure. You'll have to get a ND filter though.

I agree, its a nice frame but a long exposure would be just awesome. I can never find stuff like this to shoot where I live. You are soooo lucky!

D600 with 50mm f/1.8G at f/11, tripod mounted and focused manually with live-view for full DOF. Looks excellent and pixel-sharp at full size Can't wait to print it.

Y'all are making me jealous that it's too danged cold here to go out and do any serious shooting.

So far, all I've managed to take is a couple focus stacks with mine.
