Took this image while in New Zealand.

f/5.6
Iso 125
Shutter 1/200
Focal length 135mm

Then used a few tone mapping techniques and Clarity tools in Lightroom to produce this-

Edited with the intent of going on a canvas- what do you think?

There are interesting shape and color aspects to it. Might be stronger if the background were darker to make the lighting less flat seeming. The grittiness of the bowl, being sharp, competes with the succulent "flower" for attention.

Alittle more of what you're talking about?

Better. Maybe some more vignette and brightening the "flower", and reduce some distracting bokeh.

That was my thought when I first saw this, but being pretty far out of my element I decided to wait for others to notice. I also thought the stem on the left that exits the frame could be cloned off a bit to provide space at the edge. But you darkened it enough that it no longer matters

People prefer simple clear written messages to complex, incoherent and confusing ones. In the same way, people prefer succinct coherent visual messages. Whether we create or find our images, we must edit them, in the camera and/or in post-processing. The art of editing is identifying the visual message and making it more simple, direct and clear.

I prefer the final tweak - helps bring out the image by darkening the background, so not much futher to add.

I'd consider trying to remove the 2 "sticks" (left hand red stick and black stick above the main flower subjet) as they draw my eye.

Background too harsh and distracting for me. Too much contrast and sharpening makes plants and flowers look too hard.
