I really like the inclusion of the shoreline in the first. Helps to give a sense of distance.

#1 is very different from a typical TO shot. I like the composition

Very nice, rich robust colors really make them pop.

Since unsolicited C&C was offered, here's mine.

You're comp in #1 is excellent. The texture of the the rocks and the radius leading to the skyline adds interest and viewer engagement to the image. It offsets the tower for balance.

Well done...

Excellent shots all, but I think I like the first one the best. I think the context of standing on the shore and looking over at "District 1" gives a sense of a forlornness and quiet yearning. Great job!

Great series... it is an excellent example of why it is important to include foreground in the pictures... like several other people said, for me the #1 is the best (#4 is a contender too).

The Toronto Chamber of Commerce would be crazy not to offer you a hefty sum for these stunning images. (IMO)

Ditto! These are their travel magazine covers for sure!! Where were these taken from may I ask? I have families in the Toronto area.

I do noticed that the cloud formation changed quit a bit from one to three. We're they taken the same night??

Thanks for the late life on this post guys. The images were taken almost a year ago now and taken from Centre Island which is about a 10 minute ferry ride from center city. Once you get off, there is a little bit of a walk.. I'd say about 20 minutes to get to the beach. I arrived there about 6 PM to overcast skies, got bit by a million mosquitoes, and waited patiently for dusk. During that time, the cloud formation changed quite a bit and I was able to get quite a bit of variation in the formations over the shooting time period, which was about two hours. The best shots came right around 8-9 PM.

Camera was a D3x with three lenses for the most part... the 14-24/2.8, the 24-120/4, and a 70-200 for some stitch attempts. Most productivity came out of the wider lenses though.

I'm a newbie when it comes to this stuff so it has been quite flattering to hear such positive comments from the real landscape/cityscape pros here. Made the trip up north all the more worth it. Getting out of the country was a hassle and a story in itself, but once I got up there, I had a great time. Besides shooting the city, I was able to catch my Yankees in town against the Jays and took in a couple of games at the Rog.

Thanks again.
