Iraqing my brain to understand it myself. Kenya help me out?
Take a closer look, there may be some residue stuck on the surface.
In Canada, we always keep some Vodka near by whenever we have a Finnish problem.
Try rubbing a bit on the affected spot, if it doesn't help, just Finnish the bottle.
Problem solved one way or another.
The above mentioned finish recall was for the Canon Rebel T4i. All were recalled. There was a problem with the composition of the plastic. Corrected versions are back on the market.

Man! I wanted for so long to avoid reading this thread. Now I know why...

no, they hang out in here and they convey their epic coolness by incessantly pouncing on a typo instead of, god forbid, helping the guy out. you seem like a SUPER cool person yourself.

We were trying to help him out. Asked a couple times to see the wear he was talking about, but no response.
And cool people don't have to say they're cool.
The typo thing was some of us just having a little fun. Sorry if that offended anyone. We didn't know the Fun Police were watching.
I love to get into wordsmithing (i.e. I'm pedantic, semantic, and painintheassantic). This thread was too easy for me to "get into" - even though I intentionally avoided reading it for over 24 hours.
I guess the 'pedantic' perspective is common here. That's a potential downside of posting on FM. On the upside, we're pretty good at solving problems, especially when we have sufficient information.
I'm sure that Arnie's original post was sincere. So was artsupreme's reply, "Can you post some photos of it?"
In the absence of requested supplemental information, we're on our own, and so are you. That's not always a pretty thing. OTOH, I think all of the replies have been polite, and well within the scope of the original perturbation.
Anyway, this sounds like a classic case of "bag wear" (don't ask). You should pay attention to and be mindful of how you carry the camera, both when it's in use and when it's not in use. This will most probably enable you to answer your question, all on your own.
Cheers, Jim
P.S. "bag wear" and similar conditions are purely cosmetic; they can have an effect on resale value, but they don't affect the quality of photos that you take - no worries.
P.P.S. it is easy to edit the title of the thread... just sayin'

I hear it already snowed in Edmonton, where all the SUPER cold people hang out.
