p.1 #3 · Voigtlander APO-Lanthar 125/2.5 vs Leica Apo-Macro-Elmarit-R 100/2.8
I had them, but eventually sold the voigtlander. The later is a fine lens but not spectacular. However, it has one advantage over Leica - it can do 1:1 without any attachment.

Have both.
I preferred Voigtlander on 5DC because of AF confirm (EOS mount). Now though 5D MkIII Live View changed the game for me, I feel I neglected the Leica....
p.1 #8 · Voigtlander APO-Lanthar 125/2.5 vs Leica Apo-Macro-Elmarit-R 100/2.8
I had both Leica and Zeiss MP100/2. Zeiss is a great lense but its CA is distracting. I don't have the Voiglander but from samples, I prefer Leica rendering.
p.1 #9 · Voigtlander APO-Lanthar 125/2.5 vs Leica Apo-Macro-Elmarit-R 100/2.8
I've used all three lenses mentioned....
Each has its own unique traits/character....but I preferred the uniqueness that came from the CV 125 most...
If you're after bright colors....choose Leica
If you're after 3D look.... Go for Zeiss
CV 125's rendering has indescribable mood, so to speak...
Also, its lack of CA is just unbeatable...
Close up portrait with this lens is a sight to behold...
