The-Digital-Picture.com posted a very informative review on the new Canon EF 28mm f/2.8 IS.
Here is an excerpt from the review:
"Like the 24mm f/2.8 IS lens, with a moderately high price tag, the Canon EF 28mm f/2.8 IS USM Lens may be overlooked by some of those who could be well-served by it. I of course would appreciate a lower price, but I'm satisfied with the value this lens provides. You get fast and accurate AF, very good image quality and image stabilization in a package that is sized and weighted to go everywhere with you." Read full review

The 28 and 24 IS models look very good. I can only hope the selling price comes down a bit a while after introduction, or used models become available (similar to what happened with the 100L).
I agree they deserve a red stripe and "L" designation they are better than their zoom "L" counterparts: the 17-40 and I daresay the 24-105 (maybe even the 16-35 II and original 24-70).

Thanks Fred.
A bit off topic but can someone please let me know what is the brand of the L bracket/tripod mount adapter that mounted on the camera in the test above? Many thanks.
