 p.1 #3 · Laptop w/external Display, Sufficient Enough???? | |
i'm in the same boat...i'm considering offloading my 21.5" i3 iMac, to get a 2.4ghz quad i7 MBP....prob with 8gb of ram.....i find my problem is more with processing power, than with lack of ram (i have 8gb now, and had 12gb at one point)....i use Aperture 3, and the iMac just sits there and churns sometimes waiting to go....i'm over it....My iMac scores a little over 5000 on a geekbench test....the MBP is scoring over 10,000....when i went from my Mac Mini to my iMac, the score about doubled...and that was insane....now it's going to double again if i do the MBP.....i've got a 21.5" Dell Ultrasharp that i use as my main display, and the imac just takes up space on the desk! lol....i'm pretty sure i'm gonna make the move....i just HATE migrating systems...
