Yes it is mainly a family vacation, but I will do some landscape photography. My plan is to rent a car, probably a small SUV. Normally we camp in Iceland but this time we will probably stay in hotels.
It is good too se people waking up after winter solstice :-)

Since I still have a lot of flexibility on my own part, I have not stressed the planning myself yet. Kind of nice to let some more wishes and individual plans trickle in :-)
Chaps, after consultation with Alundeb, who owns this thread; it is time for those who want to go this August to get into action. Following consultation with Boris (bobu), whom the group would like to shoot with, and who knows iceland very well, we will set a date and schedule, but the time window is Aug. 14 to 24, and I anticipate something like 7-8 days there.
Ideally, the "group" should be 3 people per car, including me, 4 tops, or a multiple of that. Being willing to get up really early and staying up as late as necessary should be a given, with photography the one and only priority. Sharing accomodations, meals, car fees, and being tolerant and flexible should give us all a fantastic experience.
So, those who want to be part of this should now make up their minds and commit, else the bookings are going to be both more difficult and more expensive. Let me know either on the thread or by PM.
Alundeb, as you own this thread, please feel free to interact as you will, or re-take the lead if you wish to.
I am highly interested, but can't commit at this point either.
Maybe we should make a two part list, first with people who are ready to book now, and second with one for people who are interested, but not ready to commit with 100% certainty.
In this list maybe one could include a statement on when people idealy want to go, and how long they want to stay. I'd like to stay longer than just one week. 10 days at least, preferabely 2 weeks, and up to two and a half weeks.
It might be a possibility to have alternating groups, like first few days 3 in a car, then one new person which later joins up with a second group of 2 to share a car (just an example).
There were so many people interested, this might end up with several different groups.
I'll start a list in a seperate post, everyone interested should sign in there and correct their own data as it changes.
Cyra, actually Boris will only spend 2-3 days on hard-core photography with "the group". The rest of his time will be "family first". Which is why I didn't count him in the trio(s) or quartet(s) from this thread. And I don't have Anders's answer yet either. So I stand as a group of 1 as we speak!
