Getting a few files "damaged" per upload. Shows a ton of purple lines on the back of the camera. Doesn't seem to be camera specific but may be card specific.

Suggestions for diagnosing?

I would get new cards... If it is across the board I would think it is bad cards

Maybe try the card in a different camera? If you can remember any specifics such as yiu shoot -> turn camera off quickly or anything else you did before it that may also narrow it down

I had the same problem. About once every ~60 frames, a file would be unreadable- sometimes 1 file by itself, sometimes 3 consecutive files, but usually 2 consecutive files.

So before using it at another event, I tested it out using my 2nd D700. When the same problem came up, Lexmark replaced it with no hassle.

Do you format your cards on your computer? If so, try formatting them in camera instead to eliminate any file-system induced errors.

Get a new card.

BTW, as Time said, format your card each time you use it for important events.

check the card reader as well. I had a FW800 reader that would start corrupting files as it transfered if I was dumping a lot of cards. Switching to my USB readers solves that problem.

Burn the card in a fire.....

Or you could just to a lowlevel format or chkdsk/fsck to see of there are bad sectors. Honestly though, you are in the wedding forum and shooting a camera with 1 card slot.... make that card go away.

(this is why I only use cameras with two card slots)
