p.1 #1 · D600 remote shutter release

Is the infrared shutter release the only option for remote shutter release on the D600? I do not see the appropriate terminal for my vivitar radio shutter release.

Yep, no pc synch socket on the D600.
You can use your phone via USB connector for a lot more features. (android/Iphone)

Might take a few days for the apps to support full functionality.
The DSLR dashboard app currently works fine with taking pictures, changing modes, aperture/iso/shutter.

Liveview feed to the phone isn't functioning yet.

my Stratos came with a shutter release cable for the D7000, is that one not available on the D600?

You can also use the accessory terminal.

From the manual "The D600 is equipped with an accessory terminal for MC-DC2 remote cords (079) and GP-1 GPS units (0175), which connect with the 4 mark on the connector aligned with the 2 next to the accessory terminal (close the camera connector cover when the terminal is not in

I've seen several 3rd party remote release units that work with this plug as well, which is the same for the d7k.

The DC2 remote works fine with the D7k and D600 for which we have sockets on both cameras.
Flash synch - might need AS-15

I really would prefer the wireless remote connection. I can't alwasy be in front of camera for the infrared and prefer not to have to purchase a new attachment for either of these functions. Don't know why they would have not included these ast the D200 and D300 have both recepticles.

The D600 has front and back IRA receivers, so you can use the cheap ML-L3.
I use a YoungNuo ML-3a similar to the Nikon ML-3 because it has a trigger mode.

I use a Vivitar wireless that has a receiver that plugs into the accessory socket I got off of Amazon I used on my D90 and D7000 that I'm assuming will work on my D600 when it gets here tomorrow. No PC Sync like on my D700 though which is fine if the other triggers i have work fine.

Looking for a cable shutter release for the D600. So if it works with the D7000 I should be good? Looking at this from Calumet:
