Chris(from The Camera Store in Calgary) called the camera "crap". I output a couple of 40" prints for our Sigma rep here in Alberta to take down for Chris to see. Apparently with the prints on the table there was little left for him to complain about! ) Here is what I sent down:

Exquisite, Collin; the top one's sublime. Folk find it easier (and 'edgier') to complain/criticise than to praise or constructively criticise. I ignore it usually; your solution is the best!

Tariq: as a hard-core printer (and the inventor of the 50% viewing-on-screen-to-see-how-the-print-will-look method!), I am sure you appreciate the DP2M files at least as much as others to, and probably more.

Collin; nice work and a nice way to handle it. I find the DP Merrill cameras very interesting.
How is Red Deer nowadays? I haven't been there in a few years but I have friends who grew up there and still have family there. Harsh winter in Alberta this year?

How do you mean
Just in reference to the whining by Chris in The Camera Store video review posted above. I know a lot of that was him just playing devils advocate, but it's just funny - and annoying- to hear all the minor complaints given the ultimate image quality the DP Merrill's are capable of at base ISO in the right hands.
By the way, there is a rumor of a FF Foveon coming next year. Given that the DP Merrills surpass conventional bayer FF 24MP sensors and are very close to the best 36MP sensors at base ISO, a FF Foveon could be amazing.

I love mine.
Ha ha, thanks...though I can't claim to be the inventor as a friend showed me that 50% trick.

This town is pretty busy, being central to all the oil and gas in Alberta. Harsh winter? Winter has just started, I would say harsh fall! We got a good dump of snow in October already that never went away and it's been cold since. Just looked at the weather here right now, it is -19C with a windchill of -26C.
