Herb, what should be the strategy to avoid front/back focus...
Strangely, my camera seems fine...i couldn't see any focus issues...
I am quite confident this focus shift will be quite equal on all DP2M's.
However I did not check if the shift is consistent towards infinity, but in practice I did not notice anything
I expect that the shift will almost always be compensated enough by the depth of field,
certainly at further distances.
Only in very critically controlled situations like here it can be shown.
It is possible that for instance with close portraits you could notice it when focussing on the eyes.
In that case it is wise to take some extra shots that are a bit front focussed. Perhaps on the tip of the nose...
As you have seen that depending on autofocus can give some unpredictable results.
Please also note it is nothing particular. It happens with a lot of camera / lens combinations.
I would say that if you did not notice it so far it is not a problem in any way. In case it will happen you know
that it is inherent to the design.
In the coming weeks I will try to do some macro with it and see how it will behave.
But again, no worries, happy shooting
