Canon didn't make the camera I want, so now I'm mad! Oh I have to pay dollars for it too?! Now I'm really mad!
Grrr!
Well, yeah.
After spending thousands of dollars on Canon lenses, I can now buy a camera at a price that I don't want (5DIII) or buy a camera that I don't want altogether (6D).

Canon had to build 5D MK3 more like a PRO camera (pro AF, 6 frames/s ,weather sealing, etc) because they knew that they can't for now to offer such a good sensor like Sony made for D800, but they raised the price too much. I don't understand why they didn't followed the same strategy with 6D vs D600 (if they want 2100$ for it). They were afraid that this will affect 5D3's sales, but in this way, D600 will affect 6D's sales big time.

Man... Where were you guys when I got ganged up by Starnut and Imagemaster?

You seem to miss that it is the entry level FF. Crop users upgrading are upgrading for the FF capability, expecting a rival feature set to the top end crop offerings isn't realistic. Canon want users wanting that performance to buy a 5D3. I do agree though, I would much rather see an all cross point AF on the spec sheet. I'd much rather not see all the AF points crammed in the middle though!
I'm not expecting it to to have the feature set of the top end crop offering, but at the same time, I think it's also unrealistic for Canon to offer such a basic camera in what is essentially a mid to high end market.
After all, while there may be some well off beginners who can afford to start with a full frame, most of us would've started on mid spec cropper before upgrading to FF.
Besides, if Canon intended this camera to be an entry level FF, where are the entry level features like pop up flash or articulated touch screen LCD?
They are considering entering the full-frame system with the D600, because they think it's good value for money, ...

Canon don't do pop up flash on FF, I dunno why but it's not something I've ever used. There's a statement somewhere about why they didn't go with the articulated screen. I'm not defending Canon on this, but I understand where they are coming from. With 6fps, 5D3 lite AF and CF I'd be having more of a look at ths camera, but I didn't expect that to happen.

Easy! You were probably in a part of the map where the rest of your clan could not reach you. Did they hear you get fragged and teabagged via TeamSpeak?
Sorry, but with the quote above, I could not help but make a 1337/gamer reference.

I know what you're trying to say, and I really don't expect it to be a 5D3 lite either. I just don't understand the logic behind this camera's specs. It's obviously not an entry level FF because it lacks entry level features, but at the same time, it also lacks some mid level features as well.
I don't think I'm being a whiner either.
- 1/180s Flash sync speed and 1/4000s max shutter speed. I can live with it using ND filter to slow it down.
- Lack of pop-up flash. I can live without it, maybe buy the 90EX that comes out with the EOS M, or maybe I'll just use higher ISO.
See I'm not being unreasonable. If I can find a workaround, I would.
What I don't get is the AF, 97% VF coverage and single axis electronic level. I really don't think 100% VF and dual axis level would eat into the 5D3 sales, nor do I think it'll cost that much to implement. I'm not expecting the 7D AF either, just the "entry level" 9 cross type AF from the entry level Rebel T4i would stop most of the complaints.
What I also don't get is why some members here (not you) feel the need to personally attack others who chose to speak their mind about it.

No worries, I'm a gamer so I can understand the humour, though that was a bit unexpected. I thought this forum like most photography forums are overpopulated by stuffy old men.

I just don't like being served 2005 dish in 2012. Again and again. Especially so when there was much better dish being served last century.
If you haven't bought a Canon after 2005 because you think they are all 2005, then it is time for you to switch to SoNikPentOly.
Or act on your words. Buy the "much better dish" from last century; if you really believe what you write. You don't believe what you write? OK, then don't buy last century's camera.
