| p.1 #1 · Sigma 120-300 OS: really bad start |
Something to share....in case somebody has had same experience.
So I got this lens yesterday morning: Sigma 120-300 OS etc., I didn't really care about the new model, I just need a sharp lens so I took it anyway.
Yesterday at lunch did some test for front/back focusing and sharpness and the lens is superb. No issues on my D300.
Yesterday evening I took the lens at home and took some shots to check it out with sb900 and the TC. No issues and super sharp. I was really impressed, didn't expect so much.
Happy I decided I would give it a try the next day, put the lens in the backpack and closed it.
Tonight I went to the park to try the lens, and....NO AUTOFOCUS.
Nothing, not a single response from the lens.
Is like the autofocus is completely off.
I can't really explain how could this happen if everything was properly working yesterday with also both the TC1.4 and 2.
The lens was not shaken at all!
All my other lenses work perfectly and focus good as usual.
I am not sure if I want to return the lens or send it back to warranty to fix it.
I am pretty sure the dealer doesn't have another copy in stock, so he won't exchange it, and even if he had one, this copy was really sharp!
What would you suggest? Any of you had the same problem?
I am so disappointed, I really like the zoom lens and the quality....
I expected some sort of problem, this is really bad. It's good we have 10 years warranty in Canada.
