Anyone shooting on a 7D use the new 24-70ii? Just curious because I think it will be my next lens.

The lens works fine, but why would you want to use it on the 1.6x body (~38-112 AOV compared to FF)? Also, much of the benefit of the new lens is in the periphery that is not seen anyway.

Yep. I agree. I currently own the 17-55. I'm getting a 5D 3 eventually. But I'm slowly gathering gear for a full frame system. I want to start with the 24-70.

Yep. I agree. I currently own the 17-55. I'm getting a 5D 3 eventually. But I'm slowly gathering gear for a full frame system. I want to start with the 24-70.
I think you can collect FF lens from other lens, such as 16 35 F2.8 L to replace your 17 55, then 70 200 F2.8 L II, 50 1.2 L . Once you get those 3 lenses, you will have 16 - 200 range (X 1.6 CROP).
