Has anyone determined if the 6D is compatible with the Speedlite 600EX and RC communication. I have been trying to determine if Canon withheld this technology as a way to further separate the 6D from the 5D III and 1Dx. The UK brochure says in the spec page: External Flash: E-TTL II with EX series Speedlites, wireless multi-flash support (with optional accessory).

This could simply be the IR controller not the radio controller. I am interesting in moving to the 6D from my 5D-II as it would be a landscape body. I use a 24 f3.5L TS and would love to

Thank you Matthew0404.

Like the review. According to Kai AF works better than 5D IIs.

+1
I also liked what Kai said at the end, if the 6D isn't enough camera for you then just pay more for the 5D3 or 1DX...
I know these bodies cost us a lot, but I'm glad Canon is giving us less expensive usable options

Same here, Jerry. . I love Kais street shots. And to me it looks like this camera is made for it.

AI servo looks got to me too (only one sample seen yet).

The external wifi link impresses me. I'm tired of pressing my face to the ground on cold rocks when working with my tilt-shift lens. Being able to view foreground and background elements with a retina display iPhone or iPad looks very easy with the camera control app.

I fear that I've lost the opportunity to sell my 5DII for a decent price, it makes sense to buy the 6D if you were debating between the two bodies!

Hi OwlsEyes,

If you have an Android based smartphone/tablet you can use DSLRController and a cable to do the same thing as the 6D app software does with regards to controlling the camera; focus, shutter, ISO etc., it's just not wireless so there's no Jpeg file transfer. I'm using DSLRController on my 40D and 50D, you just need live view. I imagine an iOS app will be developed for Apple products as well...

That is the worst review I have ever seen. Had to sit through 15 minutes of BS to get a minute of content. That guy likes to hear himself talk!

I got all info I wished out of it except IQ/sensor capabilities.
Yes, it seems he likes to hear himself talk. But I like how he makes me laugh about my own (and others) behavior concerning gear. For example what a difference 100% VFs make compared to 97%. He caricatures peoples behavior presenting the 6D to the volks on this exhibition. It is just the ruth and I think it is funny. When I worked on photokina it was not only a few people runing around with 15-20 pounds backpack or carrying two "1" bodies with 1500 to 2000 Euro lenses. Often they appeared in groups of 2-4. They paied 60$ a day not to get some info, but to show their stuff and shoot some exciting pics of the "models" one could find at any second booth.

But I guess I got off topic.

However, no doubt, that show has its followers.......just like Justin Bieber and Lady Ga Ga do.

Kai's reviews are light hearted in tone, however if you follow his reviews, ignore the teenebopper comedy n fluff, there are little bits that do shed light on some of the functionality of the item reviewed...

AF functionality is one area where Kai gives us good feedback, he did a great head-to-head with the 5D3 and D800. The volleyball sequence at the net was most interesting, the 5D3's AF was spot on even shooting through the net, where as the D800's AF got confused.

It's little things mentioned that really count, the rest is Kai just goofing off...juvenile humor yes, but some substance. Even at 55 I can still smile at goofy stuff, it's okay to be serious even about comedy...lighten up or light up, or have a shot

That is the german word for beaver
I do not think so. The main difference between ducks and beavers is the wingspan, right? And as far I remember Peter likes BIF (Beavers in flight).
