Is there any chance that I can use the Broncolor PAR Reflector on a Elinnchrom monolight? I only know about the adapter which can do the opposite.

Even if someone made an adaptor, e.g. a metal shop, you'd likely lose the correct focus point.

I see your point. As I know, the PAR Reflector emits parallel hard light, it may not have the focus point as their spotlight accessory. I don't know if Elinchrom's maxispot is an identical modifier to PAR Reflector.

The Maxispot is a narrow spot reflector without doubt but not with the pin-point characteristics of the PAR. Btw, "parallel" is quite impossible as the source itself would have to be infinitely small.
Alternatively the Satellite comes to my mind.... though expensive. This guy shows an example of the outcome:

Also, PCBuff makes a non risky (as for the budget) Retro-Laser reflector with Elinchrom fit: www.paulcbuff.com/22rlr.php

Well the Elinchrom HP 10" reflector comes to mind. You can throw a grid on there and isolate quite well. But yes, they don't make an exact replica of the ParReflector.

The PCB Retro-Laser looks interesting!
I noticed that the interior finish of PAR Reflector is glossy and mirror-like, so it will create a very hard shadow second to bare bulb but with much more efficiency.(I don't use bare bulb because of the reflection from the wall)
Eli 10" HP reflector, Maxispot 29 deg & PCB Retro-Laser's finish are all glossy but not mirror-like, I believe the hard shadow effect will be less.

The PAR also comes with an assortment of lenses for different effects. Maybe 5 total? I forget.

It is a very nice light. Gain is about +2 stops depending on lens I think.

Well, I am not quite familiar with Broncolor. I thought it's the Pulso G which has lens accessory. However, I found some halogen-bulb reflectors which has shiny coating as the PAR Reflector. (They are similar in size & shape) I am thinking to make one for myself.

PS. I used to live in N.Maple Rd, Ann Arbor.

Fantastic! I am south of I-94, just before Saline. So I am about 4 blocks from South Maple!

How long ago were you here? For school?

I like Ann Arbor. Michigan economy sucks & winters such when it is grey from Novemner to April.. was actually nice and sunny last winter!

We moved back here from Colorado in 2000. I wish I had never left Coplorado, loved that.

Good luck with your project! The PAR reflector is often used with HMI.

Best,
Michael

Yes, I was there for school in 2000. I spent 2 years in Ann Arbor, and another 3 in Ypsilanti. I also heard about the economic depression. Many shops were closed in Briarwood mall. Sad to hear some of my friends lost their job when Pfizer decided to close their plant in north campus. Because the IT industry has never been good since 2002, so I had no choice but left Ann Arbor.

I just built a DIY PAR Reflector for Elinchrom. Here are some photos if you're interested.

I used epoxy to attach the mount and reflector. Some epoxy is spilled out, I should make it look better.

Some thoughts. The authentic PAR Reflector from Broncolor is a much smaller reflector. However, this is the smallest shining reflector I could find on the market.

Those selfmade reflectors look very good, but what's the light like?
