Read the "Please READ before posting" before I posted. Thank you for the other link was wanting to look over albums and what is being used. Also want ways to limit computer time.
Here is an obvious question, why weddings? Truthfully, no fluffy BS response.
If you're thinking it's where all the money is you're wrong. Very hard to get to a point where you are in demand and booking solid, profitable rates. There is a lot of liability and potential headache.
The questions you're asking tell me you need to consider this carefully an if anything perhaps start with portraits as your main business. Or assist someone etc.
It is something I think I should learn. And I doubt I'm at $2k level. Like to charge going rate or more. am trying not to consider money though. One of the things Id dislike about getting married is not able to shoot own. So I think wedding photos are important. Tried it blew a wedding now considering again. Some of the reasons...
You would dislike getting married because you can't shoot your own wedding so that's why you want to learn wedding photography? Excuse me but... Bwhahahaha! That is the funniest thing I've heard all week.
You blew a wedding, and now you want to blow somebody else's wedding because you "think its something you should know"?!?
Also, Candice doesnt need to learn how to read, you need to learn how to type, spell, and present cohesive thoughts and questions. People can hardly understand what youre asking/saying because everything you type is practically illiterate...
Ya'll can read all sorts of garbage in to this. Thought I should learn this so I can photograph a wedding. And NOT blow it. I think wedding photos are important therefore I wish I could shoot my own wedding. Already had a crappy day, might as well ask how to shoot wedding photos on the wedding forum.
AmbientMike, I don't think we are really understanding your question or the responses you have given. Based on reading the responses so far, it sounds like:
-you know how to operate a camera
-you blew a wedding? (what does this really mean? Did you photograph a wedding and bombed the images?)
-you'd dislike getting married because you cannot shoot your own wedding?
Be more specific. Learning wedding photography takes lots of time and practice. No matter how much you read, nothing teaches more than practice.

Yes to the first no to the second
How about yes to the second, no to the first, maybe to the last,
but don't know to the latter ? Or was it no to the second, yes to the
last and maybe to the latter ?
When I get married I wish I could shoot my own wedding so I could have good photos of it. If I want good photos of my wedding, others probably want good photos of theirs I think wedding photography is important.
If I could get practice then I would figure it out. But I can't charge full price at my current skill level. I don't think second shooting will work for me. What now?
Trying to do this thread on phone less eyestrain.
Haley yes that's true, noticed one link to pp in Wedding resources. If I could hire someone to get density right even that might help but how much can you send out.
