Yeah, not only a 24-1200 zoom but they added RAW too and for less than $500...

I'm looking forward to the reviews since this would be a nice "vacation" camera.

I have its grand daddy, the SX30, and it was a slooooow camera with JPEG. I shudder how fast/slow this is with RAW.

Geez Louise, 1200mm effective. I wonder if this will actually have decent IQ as it will be a nice little compliment for at least still birding.

I don't think either of these will solve the problem of the uselessness of the macro mode that plagues the G1X.
