Was hoping those fortunate enough to have the lens could share some samples in this thread. Not many samples out at the moment. Would be nice to collate some in the one place in the forum.
It's quite mind boggling, actually. I had the lens out just for a few minutes, between chasing down the FedEx people (priority overnight my @$$) and packing before heading to the airport. But the lens has a distinct 70-200mk2 / 200/2-ish look to it. Which is a good thing in my book. I didn't really care for the predecessor, but this thing seems to work fine
On both the 5D3 and 1DX it registered -1/-2 MA using FoCal.
Only just got a chance to look at these. Thank you very much for sharing these Stan.
It truly has the new Canon look like the 70-200mk2 / 200/2 (Dare I say it is quite Zeissy ).
I think the images are remarkable. I am totally blown away. I can not believe these are taken with a zoom in that range. The colours, contrast, sharpness and bokeh are excellent. The W/O shot of the house is amazing.
Looking forward to your "more interesting" shots, and feedback.

Those samples look quite terrible to be honest ^
At original size, they are soft and lack detail. Something is up there. Maybe upload compression or they did not sharpen the RAW file at all.
Yep, they do look soft, it must be something with the processing.
Even with this however I'm seeing decent microcontrast, especially at close distances. Good pop in some of those, certainly not a flat look from this lens.

will return to this thread tomorrow with some in-studio RAW files at diff apertures/focal lengths - consider it payback for all the other past contributors who've generously shared their photos with new products in the past that have helped my own purchase decisions!

Here is my first shot of something other than my cat. This was shot handheld @ 70mm f/2.8 1/160 ISO 800, 5D3. Light on camera flash + off camera flash to camera left. Image was imported to lightroom and exported with all default settings. Other than resizing the image has not been changed. Temp was 100 degrees today so there is some sweat on the skin.
I only took a few photos with this lens today as most of the shoot was done with the 70-200. Really happy with the results and it will be replacing my 24-105 at this weekends wedding.
Here is a 100% crop at the focus point and the full image.

Thank you for sharing that. Certainly some pop in that! Like the way the lens handled the challenging bokeh of the foliage in the BG, not too nervous.
