Blur due to astigmatism is reduced as a lens is stopped down, whereas transverse chromatic aberration is independent of aperture. TCA only affects the tangential MTF and is the Achilles heel of asymmetrical (telephoto, retrofocus) lens designs. It is very likely that the corner drop of the tangential k = 8.0 curve for SAL135 is TCA.
