Despite trying several techniques recommended for Elements by Kelby, when I paste a nice blue sky into an otherwise washed-out background, I get a telltale bright line all along the horizon, around trees, and so on. (In the photo I'm working on, these are all beyond the depth of field and therefore out of focus.) I'm looking for a way to eliminate this halo that marks the boundary of the main scene and the inserted sky, so that the sky and landscape are blended more naturally. What (Elements 10) tools and/or techniques are best, even if time-consuming? Thanks.
Another technique is to create a new layer, setting the blend mode to darken. Sample a good sky color using the color picker and paint on the new layer over the halo. Since the new layer is in darken mode, assuming the foreground is darker than the sky, only the sky will be affected.
