p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Silk Mill

I took this shot last weekend in an abandoned silk mill in Maryland. I decided to try to give it somewhat of an aged print look. This is a 15 second exposure, because it was very dark inside.

I used Lightroom to add some grain, reduce saturation, add a bit of a vignette, etc. What do you think of how I processed this? Any suggestion to improve the processing?

I think that it is ultimately up to you, it's your creative vision. It looks like a very interesting location to shoot.

I like it.
You could take the aged look further with more desaturation, possibly some toning sepia or perhaps a bit of a yellowed, faded look, a negative vignette. All a matter of taste.

I just watched that show "Abandoned" about an old silk mill...weird.

I think for showing the whole scene and atmosphere, it does that well, I would have made it a little darker, since it is unused.
