After some very basic AF testing I decided to take my D7000 in to have it callibrated with my 17-55. I fine adjusted it to -20 and it still back focused.

I really wasn't aware that the auto focus comfirmation sound should actually make a beep. Mine just crackles. The tech who took my camera in noticed it right away and the repair center is replacing the speaker. Unfortunately, that means waiting longer as they don't stock the part.

I found a thread on DP Review that shows an intermittent crackle problem, but mine does it all the time. Perhaps thats why I didn't think much of it because it was like that out of the box. The AF adjust issues are well known, but what about AF beep "crackle"? Anyone else experience this?

You blew the speaker, don't turn it up so loud, it's bad for your ears.

It "beeps" if you have it set.

I think mine just crackles while auto focusing and just does not beep.
